AMERICAN PASTA RECIPE

American Pasta, Pasta Recipes

This pasta recipe is very simple and plain but full of great flavour. The herbs in the sauce of the American Pasta makes it a great tasting dish. Pasta is a great nourishing meal to have when you are going to have a big day and need more energy. I made a meal of American Pasta for my daughter when she was going on a 50 kilometre bike a thon when she was only 7 years old and I was proud to see her come in 2nd place.

American Pasta Ingredients

1/2 lb macaroni
1 lb ground beef
1 medium chopped onion

Tomato Sauce:
1 x 16 oz can crushed tomatoes
1 Tbs dried parsley
1 tsp dried basil

American Pasta Method

First thing to make is the tomato sauce. Get a large saucepan and put all the tomato sauce ingredients into it. Next thing to do is to cook it for 1 1/2 hours until greese forms on the top of the tomato sauce. Get a pot of boiling water and drop the macaroni in it and cook till just tender and drain the water off it and let it stand with the lid on it. In a large frying pan brown the ground beef and onion together and then drain off the grease returning the beef and onion to the frying pan. Add the pasta and tomato sauce to the beef mixture and cook the American Pasta over medium heat until it has heated through. This recipe is great served with grated cheese and a crusty bread roll.

Enjoy your freshly made American Pasta!
