Barbecued Pot Roast Ingredients

1 Tbs fat

1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
4 lb sirloin beef
1 cup tomato juice
1 tsp chili sauce

Barbecued Pot Roast Method

Get the meat ready by mixing the salt, pepper, flour and paprika and rubing it into the meat. Take a heavy saucepan and heat the fat in it and put the meat into it and cook it till the meat is well browned on all sides. Now combine the tomato juice, chili sauce, lemon juice, worcester sauce, mustard, brown sugar and celery seed and pour it over the meat. Turn the Barbecued Pot Roast until it is well coated, then place onion on top, cover the pan tightly and simmer gently for about 2 1/2 hours or till the Barbecued Pot Roast is tender. Thickened the remaining liquid in the saucepan with a little blended flour and serve as a gravy with the meat. Serve with boiled potatoes and carrots.
