BASIC MEATLOAF RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Basic Meatloaf. It is a quick and
easy recipe to make. I really like making all different kinds
of meatloaves as they are very economical. This Basic Meatloaf
you can turn into all different meatloaves like, honey glazed
meatloaf, pastry wrapped meatloaf or tex mex meatloaf. The
one thing about meatloaves is that you can have them with
roast vegetables or ones like pastry wrapped meatloaves you
can have with mashed potato, peas and gravy or you can also
have it cold on sandwiches or with salad. That is the reason
I like to make the Basic Meatloaf as it can be very versatile
and the flavour is really magnificent.
Basic
Meatloaf Ingredients
1 onion grated
1 carrot grated
3 Tbs beef stock
2 eggs lightly beaten
500g lean beef mince
1 tsp dried mixed herbs
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
freshly ground black pepper
60g breadcrumbs made from stale bread

Meatloaf Method
Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
In a bowl place the breadcrumbs, stock, onion, carrot, eggs,
mixed herbs and sauce then season to taste with black pepper
and mix well to combine. Lightly grease an 11 x 21cm ovenproof
loaf tin and press mixture into it and bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
Drain off any liquid and cover and allow to stand for 10 minutes
before turning out and serving. Serve the Basic Meatloaf with
vegetables and gravy.

HONEY
GLAZED MEATLOAF RECIPE
This
recipe will teach you how to make Honey Glazed Meatloaf. It
is a quick and easy recipe to make.
With this meatloaf you just use the basic meatloaf recipe
and cook it then add the topping which is made of pepitas,
sunflower seeds, pine nuts, honey, brown sugar, lemon juice
and dry mustard. This topping added to the top of the basic
meatloaf recipe gives it a whole different taste. Serve the
Honey Glazed Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and beans.
Honey Glazed Meatloaf Ingredients
1 quantity Basic Meatloaf
mixture
Honey Glazed Topping:
30g pepitas
2 Tbs honey
2 Tbs pine nuts
2 Tbs lemon juice
1 Tbs brown sugar
1/2 tsp dry mustard
30g sunflower seeds

Meatloaf Method
Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
Prepare and cook the Basic Meatloaf as directed in the recipe.
Make the topping by combining pepitas, sunflower seeds and
pine nuts. Turn the meatloaf onto an ovenproof plate then
spread top with seed mixture. Place the honey, brown sugar,
lemon juice and mustard in a saucepan and heat until honey
melts and all ingredients are blended. Pour the mixture over
the meatloaf and bake in 200 degree oven for 10 minutes. Serve
the Honey Glazed Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and beans.
