BOILED
FRUIT CAKE RECIPE
My
husband loves this Boiled Fruit Cake just with a cup of tea
but my grandsons love it with custard and cream either way
it taste just wonderful. It is an easy cake recipe to make
and I am sure everyone will enjoy it.
Boiled
Fruit Cake Ingredients
2
eggs
5 oz butter
1 cup sugar
1 tsp spice
1 cup water
1 lb mixed fruit
1 cup plain flour
1/2 tsp bicarb soda
1 1/4 cup self raising flour
Boiled
Fruit Cake Method
Place
fruit, butter, sugar, spice, and water in a saucepan and bring
to the boil. Boil for 3 minutes. Allow to become almost cold.
Mix the soda with the beaten eggs and add to the boiled mixture.
Sift the flours together and stir in. Place in an 8 inch cake
tin which has been lined with greased paper. Bake the Boiled
Fruit Cake in a moderate oven 325 for about 1 1/4 hours. Enjoy
the Boiled Fruit Cake with whipped cream.
