BUTTERMILK
POUND CAKE RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Buttermilk Pound Cake. It is a
quick and easy recipe to make. The flavour of the lemon extract,
almond extract, vanilla, butter flavouring and buttermilk
in this cake makes it really exceptional.
Buttermilk
Pound Cake Ingredients
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 sticks butter
1 cup buttermilk
6 eggs separated
3 cups sifted flour
1 tsp lemon extract
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp almond extract
1/2 tsp butter flavouring
Buttermilk
Pound Cake Method
Place the
butter and sugar in a bowl and mix at medium speed and then
add the egg yolks one at a time mixing after adding each egg
and then add the flavourings. Sift the flour, salt and baking
soda together. Add the dry ingredients to the butter and egg
mixture alternating with buttermilk beginning and ending with
dry ingredients. Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry and
fold into the mixture. Pour into a greased and floured 10
inch tube pan. Bake the Buttermilk Pound Cake in a 350 degree
preheated oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Allow to cool for
15 minutes before removing from pan.
