CARAMEL
CAKE RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Caramel Cake. It is a quick and
easy recipe to make. I
sometimes make the Caramel Cake as a birthday cake but when
I do I make three cakes and then I add some caramel icing
on top. If you like caramel well this cake is just the one
for you. Go ahead and make yourself a Caramel Cake and sit
back and enjoy it.

Cake Ingredients
pinch salt
4 oz butter
apricot jam
1 dsp water
1/2 cup sugar
2 oz loaf sugar
1/4 pint hot milk
2 cups plain flour
sifted icing sugar
2 eggs separated
1 tsp baking powder
Caramel
Cake Method
In a large bowl cream butter
with 1/2 cup sugar then blend in the egg yolks. In a saucepan
place the loaf sugar with the water and cook over medium heat
till light brown colour. Make sure it cools till it is lukewarm.
Then add the milk and stir until the caramel has dissolved.
In another bowl sift the flour with the baking powder and
salt and then add to the creamed mixture alternately with
the caramel flavoured milk. Fold in the stiffly beaten egg
whites and then divide evenly between two well greased 7 inch
sandwich tins and bake in a moderate oven 350 degrees for
25 minutes. Turn the Caramel Cakes onto a cake cooler. When
the Caramel Cake is cold join with apricot jam and sift icing
sugar over top.
