PEPPER STEAK LOAF RECIPE

Pepper Steak Loaf.

This recipe will teach you how to make Pepper Steak Loaf. It is a quick and easy recipe to make. There are so many meat loaves you can make but yet they are all different and the taste of each one is quite unique. Take the Pepper Steak Loaf it does not have much ingredients in it but yet the flavour is absolutely sensational. I like to make the Pepper Steak Loaf when the family come over for dinner and have roast vegetables and peas with it. And I do not do gravy with the Pepper Steak Loaf instead I have mushrooms with it and my family really enjoy it.

Pepper Steak Loaf Ingredients

1 egg
1 tsp salt
1 clove garlic
1/4 cup water
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 lb minced steak
dash ground cloves
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1 red or green pepper
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs

Pepper Steak Loaf Method

Lightly grease a 9 x 5 inch loaf tin. Cut pepper into rings and remove the ribs and seeds and place the pepper rings in a large saucepan containing about 1 inch of boiling water then cover and cook for 5 minutes then drain. Beat the egg with the tomato sauce and water, add the breadcrumbs and stir until the crumbs are moistened then add the minced steak, onion, crushed garlic, salt, thyme, pepper, nutmeg and cloves. Stir with a fork until lightly but thoroughly blended. Line the bottom of the prepared tin with the peppers. Lightly pack in the meat mixture then invert the tin onto a shallow tray. Leave the tin in place and bake for 1 1/2 hours in a moderate oven 350 degrees. Remove the tin and place the loaf on a serving dish and serve the Pepper Steak Loaf hot with vegetables and mushrooms.
