CORNISH
PASTIES RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Cornish Pasties. It is a quick
and easy recipe to make. These Cornish Pasties are great as
a snack on there own or as a meal with vegetables and gravy.
The steak, potato, carrot, turnip, parsley, onion, salt and
pepper and then wrapped in a shortcrust pastry gives these
Cornish Pasties a great taste. My whole family have been making
these all down our generations as my granchildren are making
the Cornish Pasties now.
Cornish
Pasties Ingredients
1 potato
1/2 turnip
1/2 carrot
salt and pepper
1/2 lb round steak
1 Tbs chopped onion
1 tsp chopped parsley
1/2 lb shortcrust pastry
egg beaten with a little milk makes glaze
Cornish
Pasties Method
Take the pastry and knead it
lightly. Divide into six or eight equal portions and knead
each into a round then roll to about the size of a saucer.
Cut the steak into small pieces and peel the carrot, potato
and turnip and grate then mix with the parsley, onion, salt,
pepper and diced meat. Divide into six or eight equal portions.
Place one portion of the meat and vegetable mixture on each
round of pastry.
Glaze the edges and fold the pastry over the filling joining
it at the top and pinching a frill around the edge of each.
Twist into a cresent shape and glaze the tops with egg and
milk. Place on a shallow tray and bake in a hot oven for 10
minutes, then reduce the heat to 325 degrees and bake for
a further 20 to 25 minutes. Serve the Cornish Pasties with
a brown vegetable gravy.
Enjoy your freshly made Cornish
Pasties!
