DANISH
PUFF RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Danish Puff. It is a quick and
easy recipe to make. This
is a great Danish Puff. The taste is so delicious that you
keep wanting to come back for more. I like to make the Danish
Puff as a sweets on a week end as that is when the children
come home to visit.

Puff Ingredients
3 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
2
cups flour
1 tsp vanilla
4 Tbs Cream
almonds sliced
2
Tbs Ice water
1 tsp almond extract
1 cup unsalted butter
1/2
cup Confectioner's sugar
1Tbs
unsalted softened butter

Puff Method
Combine 1 cup of flour and salt
in processor then add 1/2 cup butter and process until mixture
resembles fine crumbs. Add ice water and process until mixture
forms a ball. Chill until puff mixture is ready. Combine remaining
1/2 cup butter with 1 cup water in a large saucepan and bring
to a boil then remove from the heat and add almond extract.
With a wooden spoon add 1 cup of flour and stir until well
blended. Then add eggs one at a time stirring well after each
until mixture is glossy. Divide pastry into 2 parts. Roll
each out to a 12 x 3 inch strip and place on an ungreased
cookie sheet and bake for one hour. Glaze when cool and sprinkle
almond slices on top. Combine confectioners sugar, cream,
softened butter and vanilla and blend until smooth. Place
this glaze on top of the Danish Puff and cover in sliced almonds.

DISH PEAR PIE RECIPE
This
recipe will teach you how to make Deep Dish Pear Pie. It is
a quick and easy recipe to make. The
Deep Dish Pear Pie is quite unique as it has a cheddar cheese
pastry on top and it taste great. This pie is great served
with custard or ice cream.
Deep Dish Pear Pie Ingredients
1 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
1 Tbs butter
whipped cream
1Tbs lemon juice
3 Tbs all purpose flour
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 lb pears peeled, halved and cored
CHEDDAR CHEESE PASTRY:
1/2 tsp salt
2 Tbs cold water
1/3 cup shortening
1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup cheese shredded

Dish Pear Pie Method
Place pear halves in a deep
dish 9 inch pie plate and sprinkle with lemon juice. Combine
flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg then sprinkle over
pears and dot with butter. Cover with cheddar cheese pastry
crimping pastry to sides of dish. Cut slits in top of pastry
for steam to escape. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
Serve the Deep Dish Pear Pie with whipped cream, custard or
ice cream if desired.
Cheddar Cheese Pastry:
Combine flour and salt and cut in shortening with pastry blender
until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheese and
sprinkle cold water evenly over surface stir with a fork until
all dry ingredients are moistened. Shape dough into a ball.
Roll out dough on a floured surface, cut dough to cover top
of a deep dish 9 inch pie plate.
