DEVILLED
LAMB CHOPS RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Devilled Lamb Chops. It is a quick
and easy recipe to make. This is an absolutely great way to
do lamb chops. I learned how to cook this recipe from my dear
old mother and I have to admit I still reckon hers tasted
better than mine or maybe it was just that I did not have
to do the cooking. The coating of mustard, flour, garlic salt,
salt and pepper is what makes these Devilled Lamb Chops taste
really exceptional.
Devilled
Lamb Chops Ingredients
1 dsp fat
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup water
mixed mustard
1
green pepper
a dash of pepper
6 shoulder chops
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/4 cup plain flour
grated rind of 1 lemon
2 medium sized onions
Devilled
Lamb Chops Method
Spread one side of each chop
with a little mustard which has been mixed with water. Mix
the flour with the salt, pepper and garlic salt and use to
cover each chop on both sides. Melt the fat in a pan and brown
the chops all over. Slice the peeled onions and cut the peppers
into rings after removing the seeds then arrange on top of
the chops and add the water and the lemon rind. Cover and
cook the Devilled Lamb Chops over low heat adding a little
more water if necessary for about 1 hour or until the chops
are tender. Serve the Devilled Lamb Chops with vegetables.

HERBED
LEG OF LAMB RECIPE
This
recipe will teach you how to make Herbed Leg of Lamb. It is
a quick and easy recipe to make. As
we got older and left home there was one tradition that stayed
in our family every Sunday we went home to our parents place
for our Herbed Leg of Lamb dinner. As the years went on and
mum and dad passed away we carried on the tradition and now
all our children and grandchildren come home to us on Sunday
and enjoy their Herbed Leg of Lamb and I believe it makes
us a closer family by carring on the tradition.
Herbed Leg of Lamb Ingredients
water
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp thyme
2 cloves garlic
salt and pepper
2 dsp plain flour
a pinch of pepper
1 dsp lemon juice
1 dsp dry mustard
1/4 tsp crushed rosemary
1 boned leg of lamb 3 to 4 lb
Herbed
Leg of Lamb Method
Peel and halve one clove garlic
and use to rub the surface of the boned leg. Peel the other
clove of garlic and cut into slivers. Slit the skin of the
lamb at intervals and insert the garlic slivers. Blend the
mustard, salt, pepper, thyme and crushed rosemary with the
lemon juice and spread over the lamb. Place the Herbed Leg
of Lamb in an uncovered roasting dish and bake at 325 degrees
for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Remove the Herbed Leg of Lamb to a hot
platter. Drain the drippings from the baking dish leaving
1 dessert spoonful. Add the flour and stir until smooth then
cook for 1 minute. Add enough cold water to make 1 1/2 cups
of gravy and stir until boiling. Season with salt and pepper.
Serve the Herbed Leg of Lamb with the gravy and roast vegetables.
