FROSTED
MEATLOAF RECIPE
This
recipe will teach you how to make Frosted Meatloaf. It is
a quick and easy recipe to make.
Frosted Meat Loaf is one way of doing your meat and potato
together and the taste of meat, onion, garlic and wine is
so good. This is really an absolutely magnificent meatloaf
as the potato is rolled on the outside which gives it a wonderful
taste. This is one of my grandsons favourite loaves and because
it has potato already cooked around it you only have to cook
some pumpkin and greens to go with it and of course gravy
if you prefer to.
Frosted Meatloaf Ingredients
1 egg
2 onions
a little oil
1 tsp salt
1 clove garlic
2 Tbs red wine
1 1/2 lb potatoes
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 tsp mixed herbs
1 1/2 lb minced steak
1/2
cup tomato puree
1 dsp parsley chopped
milk and butter for mashing
Frosted
Meatloaf Method
Saute chopped onion and garlic
in a little oil and mix in the breadcrumbs, meat, salt, herbs
and parsley. Bind with the combined tomato puree, wine and
lightly beaten egg. Pack into a greased loaf tin and bake
in a moderate oven 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes. Boil
the potatoes in the usual way drain them and mash with the
milk and butter. Turn the meat loaf out on a shallow oven
tray and frost the top and sides with the mashed potato. Return
the Frosted Meatloaf to a hot oven and bake for a further
15 minutes or until the potato topping is lightly browned.
Serve with vegetables and gravy or tomato sauce.
Enjoy your freshly
made Frosted Meatloaf!
