Pot Bread Ingredients
1 egg
1 Tbs salt
1 cup milk
1 cup water
5 cups flour
2 Tbs sugar
2 Tbs butter
1/4 tsp tarragon
1 tsp caraway seeds
2 Tbs minced parsley
2 x 6 inch clay flower pots
2 packets active dry yeast
1 1/4 cups cheddar cheese shredded

Pot Bread Method
The first
thing you must do is wash the flower pots and bake dry for
15 minutes at 350 degrees and let cool then line pots very
generously with foil . Bring milk, water and butter to a boil
and cool. Mix 2 cups flour with sugar and salt then add warm
liquid and beat 2 minutes. Add cheese, egg and herbs and beat
2 more minutes and stir in enough additional flour to make
a stiff batter. Cover and place in warm spot and let rise
until doubled. Stir down batter and put into flower pots.
Bake the Flower Pot Bread at 375 degrees for about 50 minutes
or until golden. Remove from pots and cool on wire racks.
Once cool remove the foil, slice and return to the pots for
an unusual and attractive servings.
