FUDGE
SLICES RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Fudge Slices. It is a quick and
easy recipe to make. I really like making slices as I believe
they go further and are easier to make. The flavour of the
Fudge Slices is just so sensational. My family all love the
Fudge Slices but I make some with the icing and some without
as some of my children do not like icing and it is easy either
way you have it, but if you leave the icing off sprinkle the
slices with nuts before you cook them.
Fudge
Slices Ingredients
1 egg
4 oz butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup sultanas
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 lb crushed plain sweet biscuits
For the Chocolate Icing:
1 Tbs water
1 Tbs butter
1 Tbs liquid glucose
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 oz chocolate pieces
chopped nuts for topping

Slices Method
In a medium saucepan add the
butter, sugar and sultanas and stir until the butter and sugar
dissolves and the mixture is bubbling. After that remove from
the heat and add the vanilla and beaten egg then beat the
mixture well and stir in the crushed biscuits blending thoroughly.
Press the mixture into a well greased 9 inch tin and while
still warm cover with the chocolate icing and sprinkle with
nuts. Allow the Fudge Slices to cool before cutting into slices.
To make the icing in a saucepan combine the brown sugar, butter,
water and glucose then stir over low heat until the sugar
and glucose have dissolved and then bring it to the boil.
Take it off the heat and add the chocolate pieces stirring
until they have dissolved then cool for about 5 minutes or
until it is a good spreading consistency.

HEDGEHOG
SLICES RECIPE
This
recipe will teach you how to make Hedgehog Slices. It is a
quick and easy recipe to make. The
ingredients of coconut, cocoa, walnuts and sweet crushed biscuits
mixed with the egg, sugar and butter is what goes into making
the Hedgehog Slices taste really exceptional. These are really
good for school lunches, my daughter makes them for my grandsons
school lunches. But they are also good for a treat for us
oldies to.
Hedgehog Slices Ingredients
4 oz butter
2 Tbs cocoa
1 beaten egg
1/2 cup
sugar
2 Tbs
coconut
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 lb crushed sweet biscuits

Slices Method
In a saucepan place the butter,
sugar, coconut and cocoa and stir until the butter has melted
then cook for 2 minutes. Let this mixture cool slightly then
add the egg, walnuts and enough of the crushed biscuits to
make a good consistency. Press firmly into an 11 x 7 inch
greased shallow tin. When cold ice with chocolate icing and
slice the hedgehog slices and arrange on a serving plate.
