LAMB
POT ROAST RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Lamb Pot Roast. It is a quick and
easy recipe to make. This is a fantastic roast to make when
all the family get together. Lean meats that need long slow
cooking are good to use for pot roasting. The Lamb Pot Roast
is so tender cooked this way and now we are getting older
it is better for us to eat. In this recipe you can also use
a a whole chicken or a piece of topside beef I just prefer
the Lamb Pot Roast.
Lamb Pot
Roast Ingredients
90g butter
1 tsp sugar
vegetable oil
6 small onions
125ml red wine
2kg leg of lamb
2 Tbs tomato puree
3 large potatoes halved
1/4 tsp mixed dried herbs
3 turnips halved lengthwise
3 carrots halved lengthwise
1 Tbs worcestershire sauce
freshley ground black pepper
440g canned tomatoes mashed and undrained

Roast Method
In a large heavy based saucepan
melt 30g butter and cook the meat on all sides until well
browned. Combine together the tomatoes, red wine, tomato puree,
worcestershire sauce, herbs, sugar and black pepper to taste
and then pour over the meat and bring it to the boil then
reduce heat. Cover and simmer the meat for 1 1/2 hours or
until meat is tender. About 30 minutes before meat finnishes
cooking heat the oil and remaining butter in a large heavy
based frying pan and add the carrots, turnips, onions and
potatoes then cook until vegetables are lightly browned. Turn
the heat down to low and cook gently for 15 minutes or until
vegetables are tender. Take the meat out of the pan and place
on a serving platter and set aside and keep warm. bring the
sauce that is left in the saucepan to the boil and cook for
10 minutes or until sauce reduces and thickens slightly. Serve
the Lamb Pot Roast with the sauce and vegetables.

LAMB WITH BEANS RECIPE
This
recipe will teach you how to make Eastern Lamb with Beans.
It is a quick and easy recipe to make.
This recipe is so full of flavour with onion, lamb, green
beans, tomato puree, ground nutmeg, ground cinnamon and water.
The nutmeg and cinnamon gives the Eastern Lamb with Beans
a magnificent taste. Serve the Eastern Lamb with Beans over
rice or noodles. My grandchildren love this recipe over noodles
but I prefer it over rice.
Eastern Lamb with Beans Ingredients
water
1 Tbs vegetable oil
1 large onion sliced
3 Tbs tomato puree
750g lean lamb cubed
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
750g green beans trimmed
Eastern
Lamb with Beans Method
In a large frying pan heat
the oil and then add the onion and cook stirring occasionally
for 5 minutes or until onion is soft then put the onion into
a casserole dish. Add the lamb to the frying pan and brown
then add it to the casserole then add beans, tomato puree,
nutmeg, cinnamon and just enough water to cover the meat.
Cover and bake for 1 1/2 hours or until lamb is tender and
sauce has thickened. Serve the Eastern Lamb with Beans over
a bed of rice or noodles.
