MARIE
BISCUIT SLICES RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Marie Biscuit Slices. It is a quick
and easy recipe to make. These slices are wonderful tasting
slices with the flavour of condensed milk, marie biscuits,
coconut, rind of lemon and butter all mixed together then
topped with lemon icing. My husband really likes these slices
because they have condensed milk in them as he will eat anything
with condenced milk in it. He is really hooked on the condenced
milk.

Biscuit Slices Ingredients
1/4 lb butter
1 cup coconut
1/2 lb marie biscuits
grated rind of 1 lemon
1/2 tin sweetened condensed milk
For the Icing:
2 Tbs lemon juice
1 1/2 cups icing sugar

In a small saucepan melt the
butter then add the condensed milk and stir until thoroughly
blended. Crush the biscuits with a rolling pin and place them
in a bowl with the coconut and lemon rind then mix well. Pour
the melted butter mixture in blending well then press evenly
into a greased 11 x 7 inch shallow tray and chill until set.
To make the icing sift the icing sugar into a saucepan and
add the lemon juice and stir over low heat for 1 minute or
until it has good spreading consistency. Cover the biscuit
mixture with the lemon icing and chill until it sets. Cut
the Marie Biscuit Slices into slices to serve.

GINGER
BISCUIT SLICES RECIPE
This
recipe will teach you how to make Ginger Biscuit Slices. It
is a quick and easy recipe to make. I
do not eat these slices as I am allergic to ginger but I still
make them for my husband and daughter as they really like
the Ginger Biscuit Slices.
The smell of these slices is wonderful and I have to admit
I am tempted to try just one but I resist as I know what will
happen to me.
Ginger Biscuit Slices Ingredients
1
egg
4 oz butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 Tbs coconut
1 Tbs lemon juice
grated rind of 1 lemon
4 oz lemon glace icing
extra coconut for topping
1/2 lb crushed plain sweet biscuits
1/4 cup chopped crystalized ginger

Biscuit Slices Method
In a saucepan place the butter,
sugar, coconut and lemon juice and stir until well mixed then
cook for 2 minutes. Remove it from the heat and cool slightly
then add the lemon rind, beaten egg, chopped ginger then add
enough crushed biscuits to make a good consistency. Press
firmly into a well greased 7 inch square tin and chill until
firm. Cover the top of the Ginger Biscuit Slices with the
lemon flavoured glace icing and top with coconut then cut
into slices and serve.
