MOUSSAKA
RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Moussaka. It is a quick and easy
recipe to make. Moussaka
is a great combination of eggplant and lamb mixed with onion
and tomato paste and a wonderful cheese top makes it taste
delicious.
Moussaka
Ingredients
2 Tbs butter
500g minced lamb
2 Tbs tomato paste
4 medium eggplants
salt and pepper to taste
1 large onion finely chopped
1 beef stock cube dissolved in 3 Tbs water
Sauce:
1 1/2 Tbs flour
1 1/4 cups milk
1 1/2 Tbs butter
1 1/2 cups grated cheese
Moussaka
Method
Thinly slice the eggplants sprinkle
with salt and leave for 15 minutes. Pour off the bitter juices
rinse and drain. Meanwhile place the butter in a dish cook
for 1 minute. Stir in the onions and eggplant when they are
ready cook covered for 5 to 6 minutes. Add the meat, stock
and tomato paste. Cook the Moussaka covered for 5 minutes.
To make the sauce cook the butter for 1 minute add the flour
and cook for 2 minutes. Stir in the milk and cook for 3 minutes
stirring every minute until thickened. Add the cheese stir
and keep to one side. Place half of the meat mixture in a
deep casserole top with half the sauce then the remaining
meat and finally the remainder of the sauce. Place the Moussaka
in the microwave and cook for 10 minutes. Brown the Moussaka
under a preheated conventional grill and serve.

It is a quick and easy recipe to make.
This Nut and Chocolate Pears is such an easy microwave dessert
recipe to make. It taste fantastic and looks really good with
the chocolate and nuts on one side.
Nut and Chocolate Pears
Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 Tbs copha
1 cup red wine
1 cup crushed nuts
2cm cinnamon stick
375g dark chocolate
fresh mint leaves to garnish
4 pears peeled with stalks left on

Chocolate Pears Method
Combine the wine, sugar and
cinnamon in a large microwave casserole dish and cook on high
for 2 minutes or until the sugar has dissolved. Place the
pears upright in the wine mixture and baste. Cover the pears
with glad wrap and cook on high for 8 minutes or until the
pears are cooked but firm. Drain well. Place the chocolate
and copha in a microwave jug. Cook on high for 2 minutes or
until the chocolate has melted. Dip one side of the pear in
the melted chocolate and then in the nuts. Stand the Nut and
Chocolate Pears on baking paper to set. Garnish with mint
leaves.
