MUSHROOM
POT ROAST RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Mushroom Pot Roast. It is an easy
recipe to make. This is a wonderful pot roast to make if you
like mushrooms as my whole family do. This recipe has been
in our family through the generations as it became a family
favourite meal when we use to all go to grandma's place for
Sunday lunch each week. Now I make it when my family come
for Sunday lunch.
Mushroom
Pot Roast Ingredients
4 lb beef
2 onions
1 Tbs fat
1 bayleaf
1/2 cup water
salt and pepper
1/3 cup dry sherry
2 Tbs seasoned flour
1 clove crushed garlic
1 carrot peeled and sliced
1 small can of buttered mushrooms
1/4 tsp each of mustard, marjoram and thyme

Pot Roast Method
Trim any excess fat from the
joint of beef and dust it with seasoned flour. Heat the fat
in a saucepan and brown the meat on all sides. Mix the remaining
ingredients except the mushrooms and add them to the contents
of the saucepan. Cover the Mushroom Pot Roast and cook slowly
for about 2 1/2 hours or until the meat is done. Lift the
Mushroom Pot Roast from the saucepan. Skim off any surplus
fat and blend 1 dessertspoon of plain flour with 1/4 cup cold
water and add to the sauce together with the mushrooms. Stir
until the mixture boils and thickens. Serve as a gravy with
the Mushroom Pot Roast.
