POT
ROAST RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Pot Roast. It is a quick and easy
recipe to make. This is the best way of doing a good Pot Roast
full of magnificent flavour and the meat is so tender. What
a great meal to cook for your family. My family always get
together on Sundays for Pot Roast all our children and grandchildren
come home to our place and I always have a big Pot Roast on
cooking followed by apple pie and custard. We all went home
to my mothers and fathers for a Pot Roast when we were young
now my family comes to mine. It is so good to be able to serve
my family up a great Pot Roast and sit around and catch up
on what they have all been doing through the week Why don't
you make a special day and cook your family a magnificent
Pot Roast.
Pot Roast
Ingredients
30g butter
2 kg leg of lamb
6
carrots halved
2 onions chopped
2 Tbs lemon juice
3 Tbs dry vermouth
125mls chicken stock
1cm piece lemon peel
freshly
ground pepper
small piece cinnamon stick
6 potatoes halved lengthwise
2 cloves garlic cut into slivers
6 small sprigs fresh rosemary
4 tomatoes peeled and chopped
Pot Roast
Method
Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
Cut slits in the surface of the roast with a sharp knife and
insert garlic slivers and rosemary twigs then dust with pepper
and place into a baking dish and bake for 1 hour. Remove the
baking dish from the oven and drain off juices. Cut the potato
halves part way down through rounded side and brush with lemon
juice then arrange the potatoes and carrots around the Pot
Roast then top with tomatoes and onions. In a jug combine
the vermouth and stock and pour over roast and vegetables
then add the lemon peel and cinnamon stick then dot with butter
and bake 1 1/2 hours longer. Take the roast out of the baking
dish and wrap it in aluminium foil and stand for 15 minutes
before carving. Skim any excess fat from baking dish contents.
To serve the Pot Roast slice meat and accompany with vegetables
and tomato and onion sauce.

STEAK
WITH FRENCH MUSTARD SAUCE RECIPE
This
recipe will teach you how to make Steak with French Mustard
Sauce. It is a quick and easy recipe to make.
What a wonderful taste this steak has with the flavours of
the sauce over the top. The sauce has a great conbination
of spring onions, wholegrain mustard, french mustard, white
wine, honey, dried thyme, cream and grated mature cheese and
then poured over the steaks is just so excellent. I usually
make roast potatoes to go with the Steak with French Mustard
Sauce.
Steak with French Mustard Sauce Ingredients
30g butter
4 lean lamb steaks
French Mustard Sauce:
3 Tbs water
1 tsp honey
2 Tbs cream
1/4 tsp dried thyme
2 tsp french mustard
125mls dry white wine
1 Tbs wholegrain mustard
2 spring onions finely chopped
1 1/2 Tbs grated mature cheddar cheese
Steak
with French Mustard Sauce Method
Cut all the visible fat from
the steaks then melt the butter in a frying pan and cook the
steaks for 5 minutes each side then remove from pan and keep
warm. To make the sauce add the spring onions to the pan and
saute for 1 minute then stir in combined mustards, wine, water,
honey and thyme. Cook over medium heat for 4 minutes until
sauce has reduced slightly then remove it from the heat and
stir in the cream and cheese. Spoon the sauce over the steaks
and serve the Steak with French Mustard Sauce with roast potatoes.
