SESAME
PRAWN BALLS RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Sesame Prawn Balls. It is a quick
and easy recipe to make. If I am having visitors or family
over for a meal I like to do something really nice and have
a three course meal and one of my appetizer recipes to start
the meal off with is the Sesame Prawn Balls. I also like to
use my special glassware as mum always said to present your
food looking good. I like to serve the Sesame Prawn Balls
on my special very small plates with lettuce and a small amount
of sauce poured over it. You only want to make your appetizers
small or everyone will be full before the main course and
then a small dessert. My grandchildren think its really special
when I make a three course meal for them and its worth it
to see them really enjoy the meal.
Sesame
Prawn Balls Ingredients
185g rice flour
1 tsp sesame oil
shredded lettuce
oil for deep frying
3 Tbs sesame seeds
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 onion chopped finely
1/4 tsp ground turmeric
15g finely chopped fresh coriander
1 kg medium uncooked prawns shelled and deveined
Sauce:
1 Tbs cornflour
1 Tbs lime juice
2 Tbs soy sauce
250 mls chicken stock
1 Tbs finely chopped coriander
125 mls prepared tamarind sauce
Sesame
Prawn Balls Method
Get out your blender and put
the prawns, onion and spices in it and blend until smooth
then stir in the rice flour, oil and coriander. Put a cover
on this mixture and refrigerate mixture for 1 hour. Wet your
hands and roll the mixture into bite sized balls then roll
in sesame seeds and refrigerate for another hour. While you
are waiting make the sauce by blending the cornflour with
the stock in a saucepan then stir in the tamarind sauce, soy
sauce, lime juice and coriander. Bring it to a boil stirring
constantly then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes.
In a large saucepan heat the oil for deep frying and add the
balls and cook until golden and cooked through. Serve the
Sesame Prawn Balls on a bed of lettuce with sauce spooned
over them.

GARLIC
PRAWNS RECIPE
This
recipe will teach you how to make Garlic Prawns. It is a quick
and easy recipe to make. Now
this is one recipe I love making for an appetizer
as you can present it so good in special small
dishes and everyone seems to really enjoy prawns. Have
a small plate with lettuce leaves on it then place a small
bowl in the middle with about 4 prawns in it and leave a piece
of lemon on the lettuce leaves for those who like lemon. I
really enjoy my cooking and my family have never complained
once about my cooking so it must be all right. They like it
when I do the Garlic Prawns and present it in special little
bowls for them and it makes them feel special as each of my
family are special.
Garlic Prawns Ingredients
1 tsp sesame oil
2 tsp
soy sauce
2 Tbs dry sherry
185 mls chicken stock
1 Tbs barbecue sauce
2 cloves
garlic crushed
1 tsp grated fresh ginger
freshly ground black pepper
2 Tbs roasted sesame seeds
60g canned pimento finely chopped
3 tsp
cornflour blended with 3 Tbs water
1 kg uncooked prawns shelled and deveined, tails left intact
Garlic
Prawns Method
In a non stick frying pan heat
the oil and add the prawns, garlic and ginger and stir fry
for 4 minutes or until the prawns change colour then add the
sherry, stock, soy sauce, pimento, chives and barbecue sauce
and cook for another 3 minutes. Stir in cornflour
mixture and cook stirring constantly until the sauce thickens
then season to taste with pepper. Serve the Garlic Prawns
Sprinkled with sesame seeds.
