SANDWICH CAKE RECIPE
This recipe
will teach you how to make Sponge Sandwich Cake. It is a quick
and easy recipe to make. The
sponge cake recipe has been handed down from generation to
generation. Back in my home town everyone knew how to make
a Sponge Sandwich Cake. Make this sponge and just see how
much your family will love it especially with the jam and
cream in the middle it really taste sensational.

Sandwich Cake Ingredients
pinch salt
1 dsp butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup plain flour
4 eggs seperated
1 1/2 Tbs hot water
1/2 tsp bi-carb-soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp vanilla essence

Sandwich Cake Method
In a large bowl beat the egg
whites and salt until stiff. Gradually add the sugar sprinkling
it over the egg whites about a dessertspoonful at a time.
Beat until the mixture is thick and glossy then beat in the
egg yolks one at a time. Sift the flour and the cream of tartar
three times. Heat the water, butter and soda. Fold the flour
into the egg mixture then quickly add the soda mixture. Flavour
with the vanilla. Divide evenly between two well greased 7
inch sandwich tins and bake in a moderate oven 350 degrees
for 25 minutes then turn out onto a wire cooler. When the
Sponge Sandwich Cake is quite cold join the layers with your
favourite jam and whipped cream. Cover the top with a dusting
of icing sugar.
