SUMMER FRUIT SALAD RECIPE

Summer Fruit Salad.

This recipe will teach you how to make Summer Fruit Salad. It is a quick and easy recipe to make. Summer Fruit Salad is a wonderful refreshing salad for the summer months. It is a healthy salad to serve up to the children with the flavours of melons, pineapple, strawberries, grapes and with the added flavour of lemon and orange rind.

Summer Fruit Salad Ingredients

3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
3 Tbs lime juice
1/2 watermelon
1 large cantaloupe
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 Tbs grated lemon rind
1 Tbs grated orange rind
1 large honeydew melon
1 cup strawberries cut in half
1 cup canned pineapple chunks
1 cup seedless grapes cut in half

Summer Fruit Salad Method

Cut melons into balls with melon cutter and combine all fruit in glass bowl. Mix sugar, water, lemon rind, orange rind, lemon juice and lime juice and stir until sugar is disolved then boil 5 minutes. Cool and then pour over fruit. Chill the Summer Fruit Salad for 2 hours or overnight.

TOSSED SALAD RECIPE

Tossed Salad.

This recipe will teach you how to make Tossed Salad. It is a quick and easy recipe to make. There is nothing better with a big barbecue steak than a plain Tossed Salad. I always make this Tossed Salad up when we are having a family barbecue. My whole family love this salad as it has been in our family for years and it is so simple to make but is loaded with flavour and nourishment.

Tossed Salad Ingredients

For the Dressing:
1/2 tsp salt
1 clove garlic
3 Tbs vinegar
3 Tbs olive oil
1/2 tsp dry mustard
pinch fresh ground pepper

For the Salad:
1 lettuce
1/3 cup carrot grated
2 tomatoes quartered
3 dsp shallots chopped
1/2 cup celery chopped

1/3 cup parsley chopped


Tossed Salad Method

Combine the salt, pepper and mustard for the dressing and add the oil, vinegar and crushed garlic. Place in a screw topped jar and shake well to combine the oil and vinegar and blend the flavours. Meanwhile wash and drain the lettuce and chill well. Just before serving combine all the vegetables in a serving dish.Remove the crushed garlic clove from the dressing and pour the dressing over the salad. Toss well together and serve the Tossed Salad immediately.
