Swiss Steak Method:
Trim excess fat from meat, cut into
serving size pieces. Place raw meat in bottom of crock, sprinkle
with salt and pepper. Arrange onion slices over meat, top with tomatoes.
Cover. Place crock into outer shell. Cook.
For 3 1/2 Quart:
Cook on Low setting, 9 to 12 hours or High setting 5 to 6 hours.
For 5 1/2 Quart:
Cook on Low setting, 9 to 11 hours or High setting, 4 to 5 hours.
Makes 8 to 10 servings for 3 1/2 quart
and 15 to 18 servings for 5 1/2 quart.
